The Frankfurt-listed German travel operator said that the positive booking trend so far was enough for it to reaffirm its guidance of achieving at least 25% growth to its underlying earnings before interest and taxes for the year ending in September.
TUI achieved 1.4 million new bookings since the third quarter and said that bookings had risen 6%.
It added that prices for the summer were 3% higher, which is helping offset inflationary costs, and that short- and medium-haul flights had seen the strongest growth with customers flocking to Spain, Greece and Turkey.
Meanwhile, winter bookings were up 7% compared with the prior year, supported by 5% higher pricing. TUI said its winter program was 33% sold, above the level it was a year prior with stronger demand across key short- and medium-haul destinations.
